JAMMU, May 4: Demanding closure of diversion in front of the main gate of Jammu Varsity, the activists of National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) today held a protest demonstration.
The protest demonstration was led by Varinder Singh, president, JU wing, who while speaking, said that the diversion at the main gate of the Jammu Varsity is the main reason for accidents resulting in injuries to a number of students, scholars and employees.
He said that few days back, a senior research scholars of the University has lost his life but the traffic police and varsity administration instead of taking any action were giving irrelevant excuses.
He demanded installation of the statue in the memory of the said scholar at the diversion point.
He urged IGP traffic to intervene in the matter and direct the concerned authorities for the closure of the diversion, so that the valuable lives may be saved, otherwise NPSU will launch a massive protest and will not allow any vehicle to ply through this route.
Among others present were Pushpinder Singh, Jaideep Singh, Surya Dev Singh, Usman Ganai, Rajat Singh, Bonny Singh, Jimmy Choudhary, Sumit Pandita, etc.
