JAMMU, May 23: The pen down strike launched by the clerical cadre employees of various departments continued on the second consecutive day today.
The employees of the care launched the agitation on the call given by The Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association. The clerical cadre of State Government suspended work across the State.
In all the districts headquarter of Jammu province, the clerical cadre from different departments held demonstrations in protest against non-implementation of Pay Anomaly Committee Report, constituted vide order No.67-GAD of 2012 dated. 16.01.2012 regarding removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre of 5th Pay Commission.
At Jammu city, while addressing the demonstrations at different offices complexes, . speakers including Ravi Singh Bhau, Sukhbir Singh, Nazir Ahmed and others condemned the callous attitude of the State Government towards the clerical cadre with regard to just and genuine demand, which stands already agreed by the State Government vide various agreements carried out between Association and the Cabinet sub-committee.
They appealed the State Government to implement the principally agreed demands for removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre by granting the pay scale of Rs 4000-6000 to Junior Assistant, Rs 4500-7000 to Senior Assistant, and Rs 5500-9000 to Head Assistant Notionally w.e.f. 01-01-1996 and monetary w.e.f 19-02-2003 as has been granted in favour of other cadres.
“Now again the State Government vide its Order No. 420-GAD of 2016 dated 21.01.2016 constituted another Pay Anomaly Committee which is just another attempt to befool the clerical cadre. The State Government is hoodwinking the clerical cadre by giving false assurances and compelling the clerical cadre to come on the road once again,” they said.
Prominent among those who addressed the protest demonstrations, included Ravi Singh Bhau, Sukhbir Singh, Nazir Bhat, Umar Jan, Ajeet Singh, Vijay Thusoo, Harvinder Singh, Sourab Bali, Rajesh Koul, Tilak Raj, Umesh Gupta, Ashish Sharma, Bashir Malik, Romesh Singh and others.
In Kashmir also, the clerical cadre employees observed complete strike on second day. Reports of protests have also been received from various district headquarters and Pouni tehsil of district Reasi.
