Cleanliness campaign organized at Patnitop

Cleanliness campaign in its full swing at Patnitop on Sunday.

JAMMU, May 12: Directorate of Tourism in collaboration with Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) today organized a cleanliness campaign at Patnitop.
The campaign started with a cleanliness drive involving all stakeholders at Patnitop including the Hotel and Restaurant Association, JKTDC, local tour and travels association, local hawkers, small vendors, Ponywalla association, local volunteers and all other local business and trade community members.
Officials from Tourism Department Batote and Patnitop, Floriculture Department, Forest Department also participated.
The campaign started at 10:00 am with all the participants gathering at main meadow and thereby teams were allotted demarcated areas for cleaning.
The Floriculture officials also participated and grass cutting along with plant trimming and pruning was done.
After cleaning the area, garbage was collected and disposed off by the PDA officials with the help of waste disposal vehicles.
Afterwards a plantation drive was also undertaken at Padora, Patnitop wherein 70 saplings of Pine, Deodar and Chinar were planted.
Speaking on the occasion, Om Prakash Bhagat, Director Tourism Jammu said that clean tourist resort and area gives a positive vibe to the tourists.
The programme culminated with a cultural evening of local dancers and folk singers.
CEO PDA, Pran Singh and AD Tourism NHW Batote, Ambika Bali were also present on the occasion.
