Classical Vocal, Semi-Classical Vocal, Painting, Cartooning events held

JAMMU, Sept 22: Four events, Classical Vocal, Semi Classical Vocal, Painting and Cartooning were conducted on the second day of ongoing ‘Display Your Talent 2016-17’,  organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu.
In Classical Vocal, 11 students participated and among them, Vanshika Jaral from GCW Parade was declared First. Vishakha Bhardwaj and Rashni Kumari, both from GCW Gandhi Nagar, stood Second and Third, respectively. The Certificates of Merit were awarded to Vishal Pandita from Govt MAM College and Saharsh Talwar from Institute of Music & Fine Arts. Vijay Kumar Sambyal, Sunaina Koul and Surinder Sapru were the Judges and Dr Meghna Dhar was the Teacher In-Charge for the event.
In Painting, 50 students participated. Skarma Sonam and Nidhi Bhau, both from Institute of Music and Fine Arts, stood First and Second respectively. Iuani Katal from The Business School stood Third and Certificates of Merit were awarded to Bansuri Kalra from GCW Gandhi Nagar, Lobzang Norboo from Govt. MAM College and Parshotma from The Law School JU.  Bhushan Kesar, Vijay Anand and Suresh Sharma were the Judges for the event and Dr Sanjay Sharma was the Teacher In-charge. The topics for the painting were landscape, cityscape and waterscape.
In Semi-Classical event, Vanshika Jaral from GCW Parade was declared First. Karuna from Institute of Music & Fine Arts and Vishal Pandita from Govt MAM College stood Second & Third respectively. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Suraj from GDC Udhampur, Neha and Vishakha Bhardwaj, both from Govt College for Women Gandhi Nagar.  Balbeer Chand Beera, Vijay Singh Sambyal and Jeevan Sharma were the Judges and Dr Vijay Saigal was the Teacher In-charge for the event.
28 students participated in Cartooning. Rahul Sharma from Govt Degree College Boys, Kathua was declared First. Mehak Sharma from GCW Gandhi Nagar and Muzaffar Ahmed from Institute of Music & Fine Arts were adjudged Second and Third, respectively. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Palvi Gujral from GCW, Gandhi Nagar and Bharti Heer from The Law School JU. Manoj Chopra, Chander Shukhar and Raj Bhagat were the judges and Dr Sunita Sharma was the Teacher Incharge for the event.
Tomorrow, on 23rd of September, three events; Light Vocal Solo, Sketching and Photography would be conducted at different venues at JU. The event of Quiz, which was scheduled to be held on Saturday, 24th of September, would now be conducted on 2nd of October, 2016.
