Class IV candidates allege nepotism in selection list

SRINAGAR, Jan 21: The class IV candidates from North Kashmir’s Baramulla District, who had submitted application forms for various posts in the year 2006, today alleged that the recently issued selection list was full of discrepancies and demanded its revocation.
A large number of candidates from different areas of Baramulla district including Uri, Baramulla, Sopore, Rafiabad, Pattan and Tangmarg assembled at Press Enclave here and raised slogans in favor of their demands. The candidates alleged that the list contained blue-eyed persons while as the deserving candidates had been left out. The protestors raised slogans against the district administration and demanded revocation of the list.
Farooq Ahmad Wani, a protesting candidate claimed that there were discrepancies in the selection list as the deserving candidates had been sidelined. “The deserved candidates are left out. There are discrepancies even in the provisional list,” he said, adding the people should be selected on the basis of merit. Click here to watch video
He added that several selected candidate did not submit the application forms. “We are clueless how did their names appear in the list if they did not apply. The list provision list should be immediately canceled and a new list should be prepared,” he said.
Pertinent to mention, the candidates had submitted their application forms for different class 4th posts under advertisement number 04/DDC of 2006( dated 18-10-2006, under endorsement number DDCB/2006 class 4th/8522-35, dated 19-10-2006,).
Meanwhile, protestors appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into the matter and fulfill their demand at an earliest.
