JAMMU, Jan 21: Rajiv Chuni, chairman of SOS International – an organization of PoK Displaced Persons, today announced culmination of the first stage and launching of the second phase of the ongoing agitation for getting demands of displaced community considered by the Government.
During the second phase, which will begin from next week with mass demonstration cum dharna at Poonch, the PoK Displaced Persons will organize similar programmes at district level across Jammu division for highlighting demands of the community.
“We will start from Poonch, which will be followed by Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, Reasi, Ramban and other districts where locals will be involved in the programmes for staging the mass agitation over our long pending genuine demands,” said Chuni, while addressing a press conference here today.
He further informed that during the district level programmes, white paper would be distributed among people on the plights of  PoK Displaced Persons and exposing the BJP, which boasts of ‘Sabka  Saath Sabka Vikas’ but gives step motherly treatment to the community.
“Ram Madhav, in his press conference here yesterday said, the BJP has a definite road map for the return of Kashmiri Migrants to the Valley, who are also being extended each and every facility for the last thirty years but there is nothing for the PoK DPs, who are living in inhuman conditions for the last seven decades,” he rued.
“We the Displaced Persons fully supported this party in the last Lok Sabha as well Assembly elections but they ditched us and its slogan of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ has also turned out to be a Jumla of PM Narendra Modi,” Chuni alleged and appealed people to teach the saffron party a lesson in the forthcoming polls.
Besides protest demonstrations at district level, he added, memorandum of demands would be submitted to the Government through concerned Deputy Commissioners.
