Class 12th results: Girls outnumber boys in positions

Jammu, Apr 25: In the Higher Secondary Part II (12th ) annual examinations in summer zone, results of which were declared today by the J&K Board of School Education, 55 percent students have been declared passed while top ten positions in each of the faculties have been shared by a total number of 60 students.
Girls have once again outnumbered boys by clinching 36 number of positions while the Government schools could register their presence only for 16 positions, including all the six in Home Science and four others by Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi.
A total number of 37858 candidates had appeared in the examinations and 20646 of them have been declared passed with 5247 Distinctions (75 percent and above), 8944 First Divisions (60 percent and above), 5843 Second Divisions (48 percent and above) and 612 3rd Divisions (36 percent and above).
2460 candidates have been declared failed and 14752 as Re-appear. 2469 candidates have disputed eligibility.
In the Faculty of Science, first position has been bagged by Japleen Kour of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar, who has secured 98.2 percent marks (491 out of 500 total) . She has been closely followed by Aryan Gupta of SP HSS, Exchange Road with 97.6 percent marks. Third position has been shared by Anshika Aggarwal of Aryan Public Senior Secondary School, R S Pura, Gourab Sawhney of Govt HSS (Boys) Udhampur, Manik Verma of Oriental Academy, Afghan Mohalla Jammu and Umang Kalra of Nehru Memorial HSS Udhampur by each securing 97.4 percent marks.
With 97 percent marks, fourth position has been bagged by Syed Kamran Gilani of Luthra HSS Palace Road Jammu while the first position has been shared by Aayush Sharma of Govt SRML HSS Parade Jammu and Akhilesh Mahajan of Kotwal National Institute of Teaching HSS Talab Tillo Jammu, who secured 96.8 percent marks each.
Aaryan Mahajan of Happy Model HSS Udhampur has bagged sixth position with 96.6 percent marks while the 7th position has been secured by Namandeep Singh of Shishu Niketan HSS Samba with 96.4 percent marks.
Eighth position has been shared by five students namely Akash Katoch of Kotwal National Institute of Technology, HSS Talab Till Jammu, Dharishti Thappa of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar Jammu, Himani Manhas of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar, Rishi Nandan of Navyug HSS Subash Nagar Jammu and Vanshika Sharma of St Francis HSS Akhnoor. Each of them secured 96.2 percent marks.
While 9th position has been bagged by Shalini Rasgotra of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar by securing 96 percent marks, the 10th position has been shared by nine students, each of them securing 95.8 percent marks. They include Amulaya Mahajan of MHS DAV HSS Udhampur, Meesha Thaploo of St Xavier Convent Sr Secondary School Barnai, Jammu, Menaal Gupta of Kotwal National Institute of Technology, HSS Talab Till Jammu, Rudhika Katoch of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar Jammu, Rupali Chib of Mother India Sr Sec School R S Pura, Salma Mohabbat of Christ HSS Poonch, Saurabh Kumar of SP HSS Exchange Road Jammu, Vishal Kumar of R S Jagrity Niketan HSS Kathua and Vishal Upadhaya of Government HSS Ghagwal, Samba.
In the faculty of Home Science, first position has been bagged by Ananya Kumar of Government Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi, by securing 92.6 percent marks. She has been followed by Mahwish Jain (81.4 percent), Nehal Pandotra (76 percent), Madhu Sharma (56.2 percent), Rishima Jain (54.4 percent) and Prarthna Sharma (51.4 percent), all from Government Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi.
In the faculty of Commerce, first position has been clinched by Shubam Gupta of SP HSS Exchange Road Jammu by securing 97.4 percent marks. The second and third positions have been bagged by Karan Rah Gupta ( 96.2 percent) and Mohd Eteeq (95.8 percent) of the same SP HSS Exchange Road Jammu.
Tushar Sondhi of SSM Jammu Public HSS Patoli Jammu has bagged 4th position by securing 95.6 percent marks while fifth position has been bagged by Basu Mahajan (95.4 percent) of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar.
Sixth position has been shared by Samksha Sharma of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar and Pranav Pandoh of Global convent HSS Channi Rama, who secured 94.2 percent marks.
Eight and 9th positions have been secured by Jasmine Kour (94 percent) and Riya Chib (93.8 percent) of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar while the 10th position has been shared by Pavneet Kour of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar and Touqeer Ahmad of SP HSS Exchange Road Jammu by securing 93.4 percent marks each.
In the faculty of Arts, Janvi Gupta of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar has bagged first position with 97.8 percent marks while the second position has been shared by Gagan Parihar of Vijay HSS Udhampur and Riya Kumari of Government Girls HSS Nowabad, who secured 97 percent marks.
Third position has been bagged by Shagun Mahajan of SP HSS Exchange Road by securing 96.6 percent marks, fourth position by Ambra Verma of Government Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi with (96.2 percent), fifth position by Shahzad Ahmad of Indira Public HSS Shant Nagar, Janipur Jammu (95.8 percent) and sixth position by Suhana Shamim of Government Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi (95.6 percent).
Seventh position has been shared by two students of SP HSS Exchange Road Jammu, namely Mahak Manhas and Simranjeet Kour, who have secured 95.4 percent marks.
With 94.8 percent marks, eighth position has been shared by Akanksha Sharma of Government Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi, Mannu Sharma of SP Sr Sec School Bari Brahmana and Sonali Bandral of SP HSS School Exchange Road Jammu.
Ninth position has been shared by Muskan Siotra of Government Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi and Sajida Parveen of SP HSS Exchange Road Jammu, who have secured 94.8 percent marks.
Tenth position has also been shared by two students with 94.2 percent marks. They are Sayed Sayam ul Rehman of Government HSS (Boys) Poonch and Sumer Changotra of SP Sr Sec School Bari Brahmana.
