JAMMU, June 28: As J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) today declared the class 12th result (Regular Annual) for summer zone schools of Jammu province, Government schools have registered a remarkable jump of over 17.3 percent in pass percentage over the last year’s performance while girls once again outshined boys.

Out of a total 33779 candidates, who appeared in the said examination, 26139 have been declared qualified, constituting 77 percent of the total examinees. Girls have again outnumbered boys by scoring a pass percentage of 82 whereas boys stood at 73 percent.
Ritika Sharma of Shiksha Niketan Hr Sec School Jeevan Nagar Jammu topped the overall merit list with 99 percent marks and secured first position in Arts stream.
In Science stream, the first position has been shared by five students with 98.6 percent marks. They include Anshul Thakur from Govt Model Higher Secondary School Basohli, Kritika Sharma of SP Hr Sec. School, Jammu, Reeba Shamim Malik of International Hr Sec School Rajouri, Stanzin Sharab of GGHSS Mubarak Mandi and Tania Gupta of GGHSS Udhampur.
Kriti from Shiksha Niketan Hr Sec School, Jeevan Nagar Jammu topped in Commerce stream with 98.4 percent marks while Tanisha Jain of GGHSS Mubarak Mandi excelled in faculty of Home Science with 85.8 percent marks.
As examination in some subjects could not be conducted due to the threat of COVID-19 pandemic, considering the academic career and interest of the students, JKBOSE has awarded marks in the left out papers according to the ‘proportionate marks scheme’ as was decided by its Academic Committee.
For those students to whom the result declared as per proportionate marks scheme is not acceptable, a separate notification will be issued within two days allowing them to opt for a special examination.
In the declared result, 44 students from Government schools have featured among the top 10 position holders. Three students from Government schools co- shared the first position in Science stream with 493 marks each while the 2nd position went to two Government school students with 492 Marks ( 98.4 percent) and third position too was co shared by two Government school students with 491 marks each ( 98.2 percent) , thus displaying the level of close competition.
In Home Science stream, all the top seven positions were bagged by the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Mubarak Mandi while in the Arts stream, the 2nd and 3rd positions went to Government school students, who included Vanshika Sumbria of Govt Girls Hr Sec School, Udhampur, 2nd with 493 marks (98.6 percent) and S Mallikarjun of Govt Hr Sec School (Boys), Sunderbani with 491 marks (98.2 percent) who stood 3rd.
While the Government schools showed a remarkable jump of over 17.3 percent in pass percentage over last year’s result accounting for a total of around 73 percent pass percentage, the private schools of the zone also showed an improvement of over 11.93 percent with 85 percent pass percentage.
Of the total students, 9,100 got distinctions, 10,653 first divisions, 5,714 second division and 672 secured third division.
Girls have once again outshined the boys in pass percentage and also clinched maximum positions in all the streams.
In Science stream, 53 out of total 82 shared top 10 positions have been secured by the girl students while in Arts stream, girls bagged 20 out of total 22 shared top 10 positions. In Commerce stream, 22 out of total 27 shared positions have been secured by the girl student while in the faculty of Home Science, all the seven top position holders are girls.
In Arts stream, the pass percentage for girls is 74 percent, compared to 57 percent for boys while 95 percent girls have emerged successful in Commerce stream against 85 percent boys passed the examination. In Science, 89 percent girls and 81 percent boys passed the examination.
In the faculty of Commerce, Muskan Gupta of Kotwal National Institute of Teaching HSS Talab Tilloo, Jammu has secured second position with 98 percent marks while the third position has been bagged by Mehak Chettri of GGHSS Mubarak Mandi by securing 97.8 percent marks.
Ritika Dogra of Oriental Academy HSS Afghana Mohalla Jammu, Shruti Dogra of Kotwal National Institute of Teaching HSS Talab Tilloo and Vishesh Mahajan of Guru Har Krishan Public School Nanak Nagar have shared fourth position by each securing 97.6 percent marks. Similarly, the 5th position has been shared by three students, namely Charu Sharma of Sir Abraham Lincoln Embark Garrison HSS Bishnah , Divya Gupta of SP HSS Exchange Road Jammu and Yashika of Mother India HSS R S Pura, who have secured 97.4 percent marks, each. Sixth position has been shared by four students; Aman Mahajan of SP HSS Exchange Road Jammu, Hadiqa Ezehra of SP HSS Exchange Road Jammu, Juhi Sharma of Oriental Academy Jammu and Payal of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar. Each of them secured 97.2 percent marks. 7th position has been shared by six candidates; Chahat Sharma of Kotwal National Institute of Teaching HSS Talab Tilloo, Harsheen Kour of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeeven Nagar, Kriti Mehta of Oriental Academy HSS Jammu, Manmeet Kour of Kotwal National Institute of Teaching HSS Talab Tilloo, Navneet Kour of Carmel convent HSS Kunjwani Jammu and Riya Sharma of Saraswati Institute of Research & Study, Bishnah. Each of them has secured 97 percent marks. Khushi Sawhney of Govt Girls HSS Rehari, Meetika Choudhary of SP Sr Secondary School Bari Brahmana and Sayara of SP HSS Jammu have shared 8th position by securing 96.8 percent marks, each. 9th position has been shared by Gurvinder Kour of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar and Visharad Nargotra of SM Jain HSS School Jammu by securing 96.6 percent marks each while 10th position has been shared by Bhavna Kundal of Dogra HSS, Shastri Nagar, Harsh Sharda of SSM Jammu Public HSS Patoli and Jagvir Singh of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar by each securing 96.4 percent marks.
In the faculty of Arts, 4th position has been secured Diksha Mahajan of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar (98 percent marks) while the 5th position has been shared by Ekta Kumari of Little Angles HSS Kathua and Jannat Akhtar of SP HSS Jammu by each securing 97.8 percent marks. While 6th position has been secured by Kanam Choudhary of GHSS Sai, R S Pura (97.6 percent marks), the 7th position has been shared by Aftar Ahmed of Govt SRML Model HSS Parade, Bazila Jaan of SP HSS Jammu, Divya Vibhooti of Govt Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi and Harsha Kichloo of Govt Girls HSS Rehari by each securing 97.4 percent marks. 8th position has also been shared by four students, namely Aastha Sharma, Arushi Gupta, Kashish Sawhney and Vaishali Sharma, all of SP HSS Exchange Road Jammu, by each securing 97 percent marks. 9th position has also been secured by four students, namely Mohini Choudhary of SP HSS Jammu, Neelakshi Singh of Carmel Convent HSS Kunjwani, Sanchi Sharma of Govt Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi and Suneha Sharma of Govt Girls HSS Nowabad. Each of them secured 96.8 percent marks. 10th position has been shared by Anshika Verma of Little Angels HSS Kathua, Palvi Sharma of R S Jagriti Niketan HSS Kathua and Shanky Bhat of Govt Girls HSS Canal Road Jammu by each securing 96.6 percent marks.
In the faculty of Science, the 2nd position has been shared by four students, who include Harshita Sharma of Shiksha Niketan HSS, Jeevan Nagar Jammu, Ramandeep Singh of Govt SRML Model HSS Parade Ground Jammu, Rishika Ranyal of Christ HSS Poonch and Rushali Sharma of Kotwal National Institute of Teaching HSS Talab Tilloo. Each of them secured 98.4 percent marks. The third position in Science has been shared by five students, each securing 98.2 percent marks. These include Aayushi Sharma of Spring Dales HSS Kathua, Ambika Kessar of Bright Public HSS Dhangri, Rajouri, Anu Radha Devi of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar, Mitali Sharma of GHSS, Billawar and Sanjana Chib of GHSS Marheen.
Ayushi Sharma of Govt Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi, Divyansh Nagyal of St Francis HSS Akhnoor, Krishen Bhawana Bhat of Coventry Scholars Sr Sec School Chinore Jammu, Lavish Kumar and Sumit Kumar Sangral of SP Sr Sec School Bari Brahmana shared 4th position by each securing 98 percent marks while the 5th position was shared by Ananya Mahajan of MHS DAV HSS Udhampur, Bharti Devi of Govt HSS Hatli, Dharamveer of Govt SRML Model HSS Parade, Khushi Mahajan of St Francis HSS Akhnoor, Mokshi Sharma of MHS DAV HSS Udhampur, Muskan Sharma of New National Public HSS Nowshera, Shruti Kataria of Oriental Academy HSS Jammu and Vedhika Salgotra of Carmel Convent HSS Kunjwani. Each of them secured 97.6 percent marks. Eight students have shared 7th position by securing 97.4 percent marks, each. Each of them secured 97.2 percent marks. Similarly 9th position has been shared by 14 students by each securing 97 percent marks. They are ; Abhishek Kharyal of Govt HSS Paloura, Aniket Kumar of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar, Anjali Sharma of Oriental Academy Jammu, Ankita Komal of Shiksha NIketan HSS Jeevan Nagar, Annam of Model HSS Sunjawan, Divyansh Gupta of Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar, Fozia Majeed of Himalayan Education Mission HSS Rajouri, Gulaksha of Birmingham International HSS Bishnah, Harleen Kour of Carmel Convent HSS Kunjwani, Kajal Sonkhala of GGHSS Mubarak Mandi, Mihika Gupta of Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar, Satyam Katoch of Oriental Academy HSS Jammu and Vishali Thakur of Oriental Academy HSS Jammu. The 10th position has been shared by Aditi Sharma of GGHSS Rehari, Amanpreet Kour of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar, Bharti Thakur of GHSS Billawar, Irfan Shakeel of MET Baba Ghulam Shah Academy HSS, Thanna Mandi, Siya Devi of Public Jyoti HSS Chhan Rorian, Sonia of CMP Convent HSS Dayalachak Kathua, Sunali Choudhary of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar and Vaibhav Bakshi of Coventry Scholars Sr Sec School Chinore Jammu. Each of them secured 96.8 percent marks.
As all the top positions In the faculty of Home Science have been bagged by Government Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi, 2nd and 3rd positions have been secured by Manisha Aithamian and Sonia Rani by securing 73.6 percent and 72.8 percent marks, respectively. Upasana Manhas has secured 4th position (67.6 percent), Aastha Koul, 5th position (58.6 percent), Renu Devi, 6th position (53.8 percent) and Mehak Kanojia, 7th position (50 percent).
