JAMMU, Oct 25: After alleged leakage of class 10th (Winter Zone-Annual) question paper was detected, the J&K State Board of School Education ordered cancellation of the examination, which was held yesterday and also placed Incharge Assistant Secretary of Sub-office Board, Ramban, under suspension, besides getting an FIR registered in this regard at Police Station.
The alleged leakage came to light yesterday when one of the Superintendents of Centre number 5116/SSE, constituted at Government High School Pernote, Ramban and Head of the said school, informed Incharge Assistant Secretary, Sub Board Office, Ramban, about tempering of question paper packets of the said examination in Science subject. The material was handed over to the concerned Superintendent under proper receipt in sealed form for its safe deposition at the said school under the custody of concerned Headmaster.
Accordingly, taking cognizance of the said report, an FIR was lodged with Police Station for investigation of the matter and identification of the culprit who committed the said crime. Moreover, a departmental probe has also been initiated for enquiring the matter in-depth.
Pending enquiry, the Incharge Assistant Secretary of Sub office Board Ramban has been placed under suspension and attached with Joint Secretary Admn, Divisional Office Jammu.
Besides, the BOSE has approached Director School Education Jammu for initiating an administrative action as warranted under rules in the matter after conducting thorough Departmental enquiry.
In view of the incident, the BOSE has ordered cancellation of the examination, held on October 24 and fresh date for conduct of this exam shall be notified in due course of time, says an official handout, issued today by the Board.
