CJM receives order for shifting Rassana case

JAMMU, May 22: The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Kathua has received the formal order for shifting the Rassana kidnapping and murder accused to Fast Track Court  Pathankot in Punjab where the trial of accused will be held on daily basis.
According to sources, formal order in this regard from Supreme Court was received by CJM Kathua on Saturday.
Sources said the transfer file of the accused has been prepared and all of the seven accused were presented before the CJM Court, Kathua, today and they were informed about the transfer of their case to Pathankot Court.  The CJM informed them that their file has been prepared as the order of Supreme Court has been received by the  court which has been put in the file and the same will be transferred to Pathankot Court today.
The trial will be held on daily basis at Fast Track Court Pathankot from May 31, sources added.
Sources said the Sessions Judge Kathua discussed the issue with his counterpart in Pathankot as one part in order is whether the accused will be shifted to Pathankot jail or kept in Kathua jail.
In this connection, the Assistant Director General Prisons, Chandigarh was also called to Pathankot today and SSP Kathua and SSP Pathankot were called there to discuss the issue so that the final decision can be taken.
The court has also informed the council for accused accordingly and they were also asked to participate in the meeting at Pathankot today, sources added.
