CJM orders investigation

JAMMU, Mar 19: The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Reasi, Archana Charak has directed Additional SP Reasi to investigate the complaint filed by one Prem Singh son of Chater Singh resident of Thalkot, Tehsil Chassana, Reasi for offence punishable under Section 499 read with Section 500 of the IPC.
The respondents in the case were Babila Rakwal, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi; Amit Gupta, SSP Reasi; Surjeet Kumar, Additional SP IRP 15th Bn Commanding Officer, Jammu; Rahul Mahajan, SHO at present Police Station, Kanachak, Jammu; Gulam Ali DDC Member, Chassana-A, Tehsil Chassana, Reasi and Sugreev Singh son of Munshi Ram resident of Sher Garhi, Tehsil Chassana, Reasi.
The complaint was filed by the complainant through Counsel with the allegations and preliminary statements of the complainant and three witnesses were recorded and kept on record.
The CJM heard the Counsel for the complainant and also pursued the contents of the application as well as preliminary statements.
After hearing submission made by the Counsel for the complainant and the allegations leveled in the complaint, almost all the respondents happened to be the government servants and some of them were Class-I officers.
Complainant had also placed on record some electronic evidence in support of his complaint which required approval/analysis from FSL, so before issuance of process in the complaint, the CJM deeming it proper to ascertain its truthfulness or falsehood, said that the matter is required to be inquired into.
Accordingly the CJM forwarded the photostat copy of the complaint to Additional SP Reasi through APP with a direction to investigate the matter under Section 202 Cr. PC and submit the report on or before April 15, 2023.
