JAMMU, Apr 2: In a landmark development aimed at improving access to justice, Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan, along with Justice Sanjeev Kumar and Justice Sindhu Sharma, Administrative Judge for District Jammu, inaugurated the newly constructed Lawyers’ Chambers at the Munsiff Court Complex, Akhnoor.
Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice, M.K. Sharma, accompanied the judges. Principal District and Sessions Judge, Jammu, Y.P. Bourney, extended a warm floral welcome to the dignitaries upon their arrival, alongside the President, Bar Association Akhnoor, other officeholders and members of the Bar, the Assistant Public Prosecutor, and the Presiding Officer at the Munsiff Court, Akhnoor.
The District Police Jammu presented a ceremonial guard of honor to the distinguished guests.
Among the attendees were Rajesh Gupta, Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B) Jammu, along with other officers of the Public Works Department, as well as SDPO and SHO Akhnoor.
The inauguration of the Lawyers’ Chambers marks a significant milestone in strengthening judicial infrastructure and facilitating legal practice in the region.
The newly built facility is a significant step towards improving the working environment for legal practitioners. Equipped with modern amenities, the building provides dedicated spaces for the lawyers to hold client consultations and prepare for the court proceedings. The structure has been designed to enhance efficiency and accessibility within the judicial system.
The new building is outfitted with spacious chambers and adequate seating arrangements to accommodate the growing needs of the legal fraternity. The initiative reflects the judiciary’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and conducive environment for legal practice.
During the ceremony, representatives from the Bar Association expressed their gratitude to the Chief Justice and other Judges for addressing the long-standing need for improved infrastructure. They emphasized that the new chambers would enhance their ability to serve clients and contribute effectively to the judicial process.
