SRINAGAR, July 19: Badar Durrez Ahmed, Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, met Governor N. N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
During their hour long meeting, the Governor and the Chief Justice exchanged views on various important issues relating to meeting the aspirations of the people at large and their felt needs and demands.
They also discussed the importance of protecting the enchanting scenic beauty of the Valley and its water bodies, particularly the Dal Lake.
Pardeep Singh, Advisor Infrastructure Development to the State Govt also called on Governor.
Governor had an hour long discussion with Singh about the problems relating to infrastructure development which were impeding progress on various fronts and slowing down the implementation of important central schemes.
Governor suggested to Singh to consider a selected area for remedying varied existing aberrations and developing a pilot project which demonstrates the high value of adding to master plans, locational planning and orderly growth, which is crucial for a tourism attraction state like J&K.
In this context he also pointed to the vital importance of protecting and maintaining assets, like the Dal Lake, which is facing speedy degradation.
