KISHTWAR, July 8: The Civil Society Kishtwar in a meeting here, today urged the Government to take immediate steps in construction of an alternative road link to twin districts of Doda -Kishtwar in view of the deteriorating condition of present Highway from Batote to Kishtwar.
The meeting which was chaired by senior Congress leader Shamsher Singh Bhandari also made an appeal to Union Minister of Highways, Nitin Gadkari to clear the alternative Highway for the twin districts as the people are facing many hardships due to worst condition of Highway from Batote to Kishtwar.
The meeting also demanded posting of doctors in various hospitals of Kishtwar and Doda district where the new incumbents failed to join after the transfer of the doctors recently.
Manhas said this way the health care services have been affected in the two districts and the Minister should pay an attention to it. He alleged that the local doctors from the area were transferred to other districts while those from Jammu and other districts have till date failed to join their place of posting.
