JAMMU, Nov 9: The Civil Secretariat, seat of the Government for six months, will re-open here tomorrow morning though most of the Ministers might be available to the people for very limited period only in view of ongoing Assembly elections.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will inspect guard of honour at the Civil Secretariat at 9.30 am after which the offices would start function here. Along with the Secretariat, the Raj Bhawan, Police Headquarters and other institutions associated with the Move practice, will also start functioning here from tomorrow.
The new Government is likely to take over either by the end of December or start of January next after which the Secretariat would function fully. The officers and officials would, however, continue to operate in the Secretariat.
As the Ministers can’t take important decisions due to imposition of Model Code of Conduct and they were busy with election campaigning, they were expected to give a miss to the Secretariat, official sources said.
Police authorities have made elaborate security arrangements for re-opening of the Civil Secretariat and other offices here tomorrow.
The NC-Congress coalition Government is at the verge of completion of its six years term.
