JAMMU, Nov 18: PG Department of Cons & Endodontics, Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC) Jammu led by Dr Azhar Malik (HoD) in collaboration with Directorate of Civil Defence and SDRF Jammu, organized a civil defence workshop for faculty/doctors, students and other staff of the institution.
The event was held under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent Anita Pawar, Deputy Controller Civil Defence Jammu accompanied by Paramjeet Kumar (Chief Warden), R Vjay Mangotra (Deputy Chief Warden), Sandeep Bhat (Sector Warden), Purshotam Kumar and Ranjinder Kumar (Instructor).
Dr Rachna Dhani (Assistant Professor), Dr Shamim Anjum (Assistant Professor), Dr Rudra Koul, Dr Ajay Gupta (Associate Prof), Dr Ravinder and Dr Sachin (Lecturer), Dr Saksham and Dr Taniya (Registrar) and Dr Sadiya, Dr Insha, Dr Jerin, Dr Saniya, Dr Rakhi and Dr Ankit (PG Scholars) worked in various capacities towards overall success of program.
The primary objective of the part 1 of this workshop was to inform students about preventive measures during both natural and man-made disasters. The programme focused on imparting essential knowledge in First Aid, Fire fighting, CPR, Chocking and improvised method to be used during accidents. The Civil Defence team also provided practical demonstrations on these topics.
This workshop was executed under overall guidance and direction of Principal and Dean of IGGDC Jammu Dr Rakesh Krishan Gupta. Civil Defence experts led engaging sessions and conducted live demonstrations, allowing participants to grasp practical applications of the discussed topics. The primary objective of the awareness camp was to equip Faculty/Doctors, Students, Para Medical Staff, Para Dental Staff, Security and Sanitation staff of the Institution with the necessary skills and knowledge to respond effectively during both natural and man-made disasters.
