City college students develop advanced vehicle tracking system

COIMBATORE, Oct 19:
Two students of a private engineering college here claim to have developed a vehicle tracking system, with features more advanced than those available in the market.
R S Navaneeth and P Hariprasath, both computer science students of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College today displayed the tracking device called, “Track Ur Spot,” with features such as fuel monitoring, geo-fencing and SOS alerts, at the launch here.
The product was launched by the Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, R Vijayakumar.
The product has been installed in the ambulances of Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, run by the trust and is integrated with android application for real time tracking of the vehicles, Vijayakumar said.
The management is happy to appreciate and encourage the students for incubating this idea and to commercialize the design, Vijayakumar said adding the system will be installed in all the school and college buses, run by the trust. (PTI)
