Citizens must respect, honour frontline warriors: Randhawa

JAMMU, Apr 14: Showering praises on the frontline warriors who are exposing themselves to the dreaded novel Coronavirus to save the people former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today said it is our duty to honour and applaud the role of Corona warriors.
While honouring Station House Officer (SHO) Satwari, Inspector Gurmeet Singh and other police personnel, Randhawa said that the entire Jammu and Kashmir Police is playing a vital role in containing the spread of COVID-19. He said apart from implementing strict lockdown in the Union Territory the police personnel also help those in distress. He said that at certain places the police is distributing ration and other essential commodities among the poor and the needy which shows the kindness of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Being frontline warriors in containing the spread of the pandemic the police personnel, medicos, journalists and all those who are associated with the essential services are playing a key role in saving precious lives of the citizens. He urged upon the people that in the time of crisis when these people are exposing themselves to the dreaded virus it is our duty to respect and honour them to boost their morale.
Randhawa further said that even the Prime Minister of India while addressing the nation today has lauded the role of frontline warriors and urged people to honour them by following their instructions. “The police is implementing lockdown for the safety of the people and it has no personal interest in it. The police in Jammu and Kashmir has shown exemplary courage and dedication on all fronts in fight against the spread of coronavirus”, Randhawa added.
On the occasion Randhawa urged upon the people to stay home and maintain social distancing to win the fight against this strain. He also urged to maintain proper hygiene.
Others who accompanied the former MLC include Hardev Singh, vice chairman Jammu Cantonment Board, Harbans Choudhary and Bhagwan Choudhary.
