JAMMU, Sept 14: During an interactive meeting with Dr Nirmal Singh, Deputy Chief Minister, CII members’ delegation led by its vice-chairman Rahul Sahai, submitted the proposed draft for the Startup Scheme for J&K.
CII proposed an incubation infrastructure for startups and offered to provide industry mentorship and funding resources to them. “We can grow and nurture our future investors from our own State,” they said and requested Deputy Chief Minister to form a core group for startups and build an infrastructure for incubation centre in IIT Jammu.
Dr Singh assured the CII members his personal keenness towards startups and promised them full support in this direction. CII also proposed forming a core team involving industrialists, academicians and Government to work on building startup eco-system.
Rahul Sahai, appreciated Dr Nirmal Singh for assuring 24 x 7 electricity to all revenue feeders in Samba and requested the same arrangement to be made in other industrial areas too.
CII members also briefed Dr Singh on the plight of industry in J&K due to current unrest. Dr Singh briefed the members on the efforts being undertaken by Government to ensure normalcy.
In another discussion, Dr Singh asked members to share their views on the overall sentiment of industry for GST regime.  Rahul Sahai and  Ravnish Gulati assured Dr Singh that industry is in full support to GST regime, however they would strongly recommend that GST should not affect the State level incentives and hence all State level incentives should be incorporated under the GST regime.
Ravnish Gulati,  Rajesh Sharma, Jaspal Singh, Tapan Dubey, Amit Sethi and  Gourav Mahajan were present during the meeting.
