JAMMU, May 19: In a bid to keep the industry of the State competitive against the changing and challenging global industrial trends, CII organized a workshop for industry on the warehouse safety and security in collaboration with Godrej.
This was a corporate initiative to strengthen the supply chain practices of the industry in J&K and share best practices from the global leaders. Industry owners, warehouse operators and workers from all over the State attended the workshop in good numbers.
Rahul Sahai, Chairman, CII J&K State in his welcome address, spoke on the CII’s centers of excellence across India and said they are supporting the Indian industry through various services on key areas for India’s sustainable growth. To address the need of sharpening India competitive edge through better logistics and supply chain practices, CII – Institute of Logistics (CIL) was established as a centre of excellence in logistics and supply chain. The Institute creates a platform for the Indian industry to gain more insights into the emerging trends, industry specific problems of national importance and global best practices in logistics and supply chain management.
Navneet Duggal, Regional Sales Head – North India, Godrej Storage Solutions addressed on the technology required in the systems safety.
Sanju Stephen, AGM – Sales & Service, Godrej Material Handling addressed on operation safety in material handling.
“A warehouse plays a key and integral part in the success of an organization’s supply chain. An efficient warehouse operation, goes a long way in meeting organization’s client need. With increasing transaction and reducing response times, maintaining warehouse operations with highest degree of orderliness has emerged as necessity. Highest productivity levels are achievable when you have completely safe operations,” Stephen said.
The Highlights of the program were Introduction to warehouse safety, how to identify & mitigate safety risk in the warehouse systems and operations, how to plan for safety operations and how can automation help improve safety.
The participants were felicitated with certificates from CII – Institute of Logistics and Godrej Storage Solutions.
