The programme was presided over by Chairman of SOS. International, Rajiv Chuni while prominent people of the displaced community, including J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina participated in the event.
While paying tribute to the PoJK martyrs and recalling the sacrifices made by the community, J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina said that both BJP and S. O. S. International were working on the same mission of getting PoJK liberated from illegal occupation of Pakistan and realize the most cherished dream of Akhand Bharat.
The BJP president endorsed all demands of the PoJK DPs and said that he would take up their issues before the appropriate Government authorities pressing for positive consideration at the earliest.
In his address, Rajiv Chuni highlighted plight and grievances of the PoJK DPs, who were pushed to the corner by the successive regimes.
Alleging that condition of the PoJK DPs has turned from bad to worse after abrogation of Article 370, Chuni reminded that despite being bonafide citizens of J&K, the community had supported abrogation of Articles 370 and 35 A with the hope that abolition of semi-autonomous status of J&K would pave way for justice to the community.
“Displaced families were expecting that their longstanding demands shall be fulfilled with the abrogation of Article 370, but instead of giving us promised Achche Din, this Government has become completely unaccountable to the long-neglected PoJK displaced community,” he said and added that even the PM Central Assistant Scheme for PoJK DPs was not fully implemented and then suddenly stopped without assigning any reason thus depriving thousands of displaced families from getting the cash assistance.
He urged the Central Government to continue the scheme and cover all the left out families of PoJK DPs in a time bound manner.
