JAMMU, Dec 24: Christmas was celebrated with zeal and religious fervour across Jammu province.
Sai Shyam Educational Society, Ghou-Manhasan, celebrated Christmas in which students participated with lot of enthusiasm. Students dressed as Santa Claus sang songs and performed cultural programmes. CL Tickoo, Chairman of Educational Society and Principal of Sai Shyam Public School Sarojni Saraf threw light on the significance of Christmas. Principal of College Dr Usha Tickoo was also present.
KC Public School celebrated Christmas with zeal and fervour. The show was delightful mix of Christmas carols, songs and dances. The highlight of the programme was fancy dress show, in which children looked adorable dressed up as angles, Christmas tree, Santa Claus, snowman, jingle bells, reindeer and Christmas cake. A short play “Simply Christmas” was presented, which highlighted the message of caring and sharing. Amarendra Mishra, Principal and Headmistress Sofia Rana asked the students to reach out to the less fortunate members of the society by donating clothes and other things.
Christmas was celebrated at Delhi Public School. On the occasion, TK Sharma, Director School Education was the chief guest. Additional Director/ Principal Dr D Joseph presented the welcome address. Ajatshatru Singh, president, Rajput Charitable Trust, Ritu Singh, Pro Vice Chairperson, DPS Jammu, Ashok Chandra, Chairman, DPS Society and SS Sodhi, Director DPS also extended their blessings to the students and their families. Students presented various cultural items. Blankets were also distributed among the inmates of Old Age Home, Amphalla.
Christmas was celebrated at Vishwa Bharti Public Higher Secondary School, Akalpur Morh, Muthi. On the occasion, Prof Sunita Kampassi, Principal, Vishwa Bharti College of Education was the chief guest, whereas JL Kaul, secretary, College of Education and Public School was guest of honour. Sharika Raina, Head, Primary Wing presented the welcome address, while Principal of the school Prof Annapurna Kaul threw light on the importance of the festival. Prizes were distributed among the students, who excelled in various co-curricular activities.
Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School, Rajpura Mangotrian celebrated Christmas. Students presented melodious Christmas carols and enthralled the audience. Tiny tots of Kindergarden attired as Santa Claus offered sweets and chocolates to the gathering. Chairman Subash Suri advised the students to follow the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ.
JK Montessorie Senior Secondary School celebrated Christmas. Various cultural items were presented by the students on the occasion. Sweets and gifts were distributed by Santa Claus and Jingles were sung by everyone present there. Managing Director of the school Rajni Gupta asked the students to spread message of love, kindness and brotherhood everywhere.
NITL Higher Secondary School, Udhampur celebrated Christmas. Principal of the School Ajay Gupta, teachers, staff members and students were present on the occasion. Students decorated Christmas tree with buntings, bells, stars, gifts and sweets and also presented cultural items. Principal asked the students to follow the path of love, brotherhood and peace.
Christmas was celebrated at St Xavier Convent Senior Secondary School, Barnai. Teachers and students setup stalls selling different eatables and game counters. Rev Uday Singh of St Paul Church, Residency Road was also present. SM Gill, Ex MLC was the guest of honour. Director of the school HR Padha and Principal Pankaj Vihans were also present. Children dressed as Santa Claus distributed sweets among the junior wing.
Bhargava Public School, Supwal, District Samba celebrated Christmas with great zeal and enthusiasm. The celebration began with a special assembly, where Principal Viveak Arora enlightened the students and staff about Christmas day. This was followed by an endearing performance by a group of tiny tots who were attired as Santa Claus and fairies. Staff and students decorated the school with artificial snow, X-Mas Tree and twinkling lights depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. Parents were also invited to accompany the celebrations. Various stalls of different eatables were installed. Students and staff tapped their feet on their favorite dance numbers as special arrangement of DJ was made. Rajesh Sharma, Director, Chairman Prakash Sharma, Ex-MLA were also present.
May Fair Group of Institutions celebrated Christmas with zeal and fervour. On the occasion, Students decorated the Christmas tree. Students were dressed up as Santa Claus, fairies, etc. Colourful cultural programme was presented by them, followed by Christmas song. Vijay Basur, Chairman along with Ranjeet Kour, Principal threw light on the importance of the day.
Christmas was celebrated at Silver Bells High School, Paloura. Principal threw light on the life history of Jesus Christ and advised the students to be good citizens. A Christmas tree was decorated in the school premises and sweets were distributed among the students.
A colorful programme was organized by Dream Land Public High School, Udhampur to celebrate Christmas. On the occasion, students presented different items based on the theme of the Christmas. Principal of the School Sudeshwar highlighted the importance of the day.
JK Convent School, Subash Nagar celebrated Christmas. Colorful dance and fancy dress competition was held. One of the kid who was dressed like Santa Claus distributed sweets to all teachers, parents and children. Prizes were also distributed among winners of dance and fancy dress competition by chief guest Sohan Singh Sony, senior leader PDP. Rohit Bains, Director of the school threw light on the life of Jesus Christ.
RM Public School celebrated Christmas. On the occasion, students sang jingles and carols and also participated in various games. Chief guest Chairman RM Public School Rameshwar Mengi, Trustee RM College of Education Reeta Mengi, Principal RM College of Education PK Dhar highlighted the importance of the day. Shivali Pathania, Jjotsna Jamwal, Principal RM Public School Ravinder Kour, Vice Principal Shashi Jamwal and Administrator Meenakshi Sharma were also present.
New Rock Land Public School, Krishna Vihar, Janipur Colony celebrated Christmas. Kids were dressed as Santa Claus and fairies. They took out a procession, followed by cultural programme. An exhibition was also organised on the occasion. Principal of the school Vandana Bhadwal, Nishu Pandey, Neha Dabgotra, Monika Verma, Priya Jamwal and Ruhi were also present.
TS Public School, Channi Rama celebrated Christmas with zeal and enthusiasm. On the occasion, Christmas tree decoration and New Year card making competitions were organised, in which students participated actively. Chairperson TS Group of Educational Institutions Pooja Malhotra threw light on the life and teachings of Lord Jesus Christ.
Special Children of Asha School, Jammu Cantonment celebrated Christmas. Children were dressed in colorful attire and danced to the tunes of latest songs. A group of students sang Christmas carols. Suman Mathur, Principal of Asha School, educated the students about the life and teaching of Lord Jesus Christ. Gifts and sweets were distributed to the students by senior students dressed as Santa Claus. Vandana Sharma, Chairperson of Family Welfare Organization of Tiger Division extended greetings to the Asha family.
Kids Kudose Public School, Lower Shiv Nagar celebrated Christmas with zeal and fervour. On the occasion, students were attired in different fancy dresses. Santa Claus distributed sweets among the students. Principal Pratibha Duggal highlighted the importance of the day and asked the students to follow the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ.
Springdale School, Rajouri Lines celebrated Christmas with zeal and fervour. The students were dressed as Santa Claus and offered gifts to the tiny tots. Principal Bhavna Kaushal presided over the function. Various dance items and skits were presented by the students. Vice Chairman Gourav Malhotra encouraged the participants to take part in such activities for their development.
Apple Kids International Pre-School, Bantalab celebrated Christmas. Clad in colorful and specially designed Christmas dresses, the students danced on the tunes of popular songs. Students sang Christmas carols and Santa Claus distributed sweets to them. Students gave an eye-catching performance while dancing on the tunes of “Jingle Bells”. Principal of the School Puja Sharma educated the students about the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Lord Mahavira Playway School celebrated Christmas with pomp and show. All the angels of the school were attired as Santa Claus and fairies. Teachers and students danced on various songs of Christmas. Madhu Sharma, Principal of the school distributed sweets among the students and also asked them to follow the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ.
Little Millennium Pre Schools celebrated Christmas at Roop Nagar and Gandhi Nagar branches. The little angels aged between 2 to 6 years came dressed as Santa Claus and Christmas carols were sung by them. Director of the schools Akhila Sharma educated the Children about the importance of inclusiveness in the society which can be inculcated by celebration of all the festivals of the country.
Apple Kids International Pre School, Gandhi Nagar celebrated Christmas in which kids, staff and management participated. The function started with active participation of toddlers singing the Christmas song. Christmas carols and tree decoration was the theme of the day. Children were beautifully dressed in Mother Marry, Santa Claus and fairy dresses.
Kids Campus International School, Gadigarh celebrated Christmas. Students sang Christmas songs along with their teachers. Principal Neeru Pandoh threw light on the importance of the day.
Blossom Kids, Gangyal celebrated Christmas with zeal and fervour. During the celebration, the students enjoyed dancing with Santa Claus. Principal Bavita Sharma inculcated the value of Christmas day among the students and also highlighted the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ.
Shemrock International School celebrated Christmas with great joy and fervor. The function started with the decoration of Christmas tree followed by Dance items presented by kids. Santa Claus cut the cake with children and also distributed sweets and gifts among them. The celebration ended with Musical Chair show. Winners were given the prizes.
SS Kids Playway School, Lakkar Mandi celebrated Christmas. On the occasion, students presented various cultural items and enthralled the audience.
Kids Campus, an International Pre School Channi Himmat celebrated Christmas with great enthusiasm and Zeal. Teachers of the school educated the kids about the life of Jesus Christ. All the kids were dressed in colourful red dresses and they decorated the Christmas tree with bells, stars, candy canes, balls, lights and other accessories. Santa Claus distributed sweets and cake among the children.
Grooming Kids Playway School celebrated Christmas at Believer Church, Bishnah. Father George Matto highlighted the life and sacrifices of the Lord Jesus Christ. Various colourful items were presented by the little kids. Kids were dressed in costumes of Santa Claus and Mother Merry. Santa Clause distributed various gift and candies among the kids. Sunil Sharma, Chairman, Rekha Sharma, Principal and staff members were present on the occasion.
On the eve of Christmas, Rashmi Hooda, Convenor of Family Welfare Organisation (FWO), White Knight Corps visited 166 Military Hospital, Satwari Cantonment to celebrate Christmas with the children admitted in the hospital. Sushma Harjai, Convener of FWO, 166 Military Hospital and Brigadier Man Mohan Harjai, Commandant of the hospital were also present. The special attraction of the event was the get together of Neonatal ICU graduates who survived against all odds. Rashmi Hooda also inaugurated the play room in the Pediatric Ward and distributed sweets and gifts to the children.
Different organizations including District Congress Committee, Jammu Urban, All India Masih Sewa Dal, Home Guards, J&K Trade Union Congress, Safai Karamchari Union, Doda Migrants, Gandhi Global Family, J&K Women Credit celebrated Christmas under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Gupta, former MP. Om Chopra, president, DCC Jammu Urban was guest of honour and Shaukat Peter, Chief Patron, AIMSD and President to Priests of All J&K Joint Churches Fellowship were among the special invitee. The function was organised by president, AIMSD Camres David. Gupta in his speech asked the gathering to strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and brotherhood in the State.
Residents of Gho Manhasa celebrated Christmas. Amid religious brotherhood and harmony, the locals enjoyed a traditional Christmas dinner, an entertaining talent show, carol singing and a visit from Santa prepared by the team of local church. State President Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sang (ABSMS), Dev Anand Gill was chief guest, while Father of local Church, was guest of honour. The function was organized by Subash Massi, while Yash Pal, Rash Pal, Hardev Singh and Sohan Mottan were also present.
