Choudhary appointed PSC chairman

JAMMU, Feb 24: Government today appointed Special Director General (DG) of Police, Crime, AK Choudhary, as the new chairman of the J&K Public Service Commission.
This appointment comes after the retirement of former chairman Satish Chandra on November 1, 2023. Prior to Choudhary’s appointment, the commission had only one member.
“In exercise of powers conferred by section 93 of the J&K Re-Organisation Act, 2019, and SO 3937 (E) dated 31st October, 2019 read with orders issued terms of sub-clause (i) of clause (c) of the Proclamation issued by the President dated 31st October 2019, the Lieutenant Governor of UT of Jammu and Kashmir is pleased to appoint AK Choudhary as Chairman, Public Service Commission for UT of J&K.
“He shall hold the position of the Chairman, PSC, till he attains the age of 62 years. His appointment shall take effect from the date he assumes the office,” read an order issued by Commissioner Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department, Sanjeev Verma.
