Srinagar, May 16: 68 Engineer Regiment of Chinar Corps has commenced the construction of 140 feet Bailey bridge over Erin Nala, which will be connecting two important villages of Gamroo and GundKesar of Bandipur District.
The Army is assisting the local administration in construction of the bridge under directions of Lieutenant General Om Prakash, General Officer Commanding, Chinar Corps.
The project is under operation Sadhbhavana wherein Army provides humanitarian effort to assist in improving the lives of local people. The requirement of bridge was felt by the villagers and was projected by Chief Engineer R&B division through 14 RR to Chinar Corps.
The construction of the bridge will be completed in a short span of 10 days starting from May 9. The bridge will help in connecting two important villages of Bandipur district making easier access to villagers for better facilities of education, markets and medical. The bridge will be a major boon and will reduce daily hardships of the villagers.
