Undoubtedly India is emerging stronger, let it be admitted honestly, the present Government at the centre, is toiling to make it more strong with the passing of each day. Let it be equally admitted without any reservations that post independence, there has been not as much criticism of , if not attack on any government, with the exception of two “stints ” of 13 days and 13 months respectively of Atal Bihari Vajpayee , as Modi Government has been facing. Not only the rhetoric but sadly even the body language ofsome political leaders in the opposition and at times words spoken against him look bereft of decency. He takes measures out of box to offer an olive branch of peace and to forge permanent friendship with Pakistan; he is attacked for being soft towards the rogue country. Responding as usual, that country having multi layers of authority like military, terror groups, ISI, and Islamic fundamentalist elements in addition to the “elected” government, the friendship initiatives of our country are responded to by acts of Pathankot and Uri hence sabotaged. The Government chooses to adopt a stance dictated by the interests of the country against that country “terror and talks cannot go together”, Modi is pressurized preceded by criticism to mend ways with Pakistan and charged with being an extremist RSS man. If he were a Muslim League or MIM man, he would have been called a secular nationalist.While the official stand is not to talk to separatists in Kashmir, Congress senior leaders make a deliberate Srinagar political picnic to “meet” and put a stamp of legitimacy on the concept of being stake holders. That is true nationalism, a secular nationalism. When Rashid Alvi of the Congress Party, Majid Menon and others attend Iftar party hosted by controversial Pakistani High Commissioner Basit in Delhi against the backdrop of terrorist attack in Srinagar, they are signs and symptoms of true “secular” nationalism. When Rahul Gandhi meets the Chinese envoy in the backdrop of a standoff between the two countries, he did not convey that he mustered support for his country and the stand of the Congress is inexplicable. After the invention or discovery of “Hindu or saffron terror” in India by Congress ministers, preceded by Rahul Gandhi rebutting the belief of the American diplomat that India faced gravest terror threat and hence to its security from HM, JM terror outfits, he informed and updated his information that it was the Hindu extremist forces that posed grave danger to India. It did not go in vapours in thin air but stories and theories started spinning across the country of 1300 million that intolerance (by Hindus) had reached its peak and the country was not worth living in due to security and threat perceptions. As we know some “intellectuals”,writers, artists etc started a campaign of “returning” awards sans the amount of money , shawls or other mementos given to them at the time of receiving those awards.An act of crime , here and there, of killing in rage, of committing suicide , if by the select groups with political inbuilt fortunes were blown out of proportions frantically putting blame on one person – Modi , the centrifugal and centripetal point and the target object.
Some anti social and anti national elements committing crime of thrashing and even lynching a few people suspected of carrying cows for slaughter or beef in some parts of the country including those run by non BJP Governments deserve not only condemnation but strict action as a deterrent for others in which should have come apolitical cooperation and honest participation to contain and punish such elements but no – to some political parties, neither cows , nor beef nor the victims of lynching troubles and concerns in as much as how it all could be given a communal colour and putting blame on Hindu saffron groups and berate, detest and deride the ruling dispensation .
After Pakistan, now China has mustered courage to pooh – pooh what it calls Hindu Nationalism . Chinese Government controlled News Agency has charged Modi of having taken advantage of rising Hindu Nationalism which China believes to have taken place especially after Modi took over as the country’s PM. Reforms in diplomacy is what China believes are not taking place on account of “conservative Hindu nationalists”. Perhaps by “reforms in diplomacy”, it means as usual India succumbing to regular arms twisting tactics of China againstit unopposedand without a whimper. Since it is now something of a departure from that policy, it has coined the phrase of Hindu Nationalism on account of a lot of claptrap and irritating noise by some opposition Parties in India as their routine to malign 73% of the population of India. The news agency further says that Nationalist fervor demands revenge against China for inflicting defeat on India in 1962 war. China’s development is seen as a misfortune to India, it adds. Further it says that the faster China grows, the more fearful they are.
Just compare the rate of crime, ethnic and racial attacks, crimes against women, children, drug peddling and so on of the most advanced countries with India, one can feel relaxed that this country is with the lowest crime rate , yet we call this country as the one of rapists, the one engaged in acts of atrocities against Muslims and even echo such baseless fears in the august houses of the Parliament and the world media and all other countries look at us with suspicion. China too has buttressed such manufactured lies and says, “The Modi Government can do nothing if religious nationalism becomes extreme, as shown in its failure to curb violent incidents against Muslims since he came to power in 2014.” Have Indian Communists strongly challenged the canards spread by the Chinese news agency and instead asked them to learn how Indian Muslims were enjoying political, religious and social freedom even much more than they would in any Muslim country? We have to love our country, its borders, its institutions, its rich ancient culture and civilization asalso itsinterests and doing it with honest dedication cannot constitute something like “Hindu Nationalism” . But Indian Communists are said to have sided with China in the 1962 conflict yet claiming to be liberal democrat secular Indian people, how can they speak on behalf of India? Yes, they are day dreaming in seeing a bloody revolution in the near distant future in India taking place , the obsolete Marxian concept which stands discarded even from where it was produced and where it travelled.
This brazen intervention in our affairs and speaking lies with an element of thrust legitimacy, by China after Pakistan may soothe and comfort foreign agent saboteurs and internal dissenters but it surely means more than what meets the eye. The pseudo secular brigade and those with quasi Nationalism have been blowing out of proportion deliberately and knowingly sporadic acts of crime giving them communal colour and that also selectively because they are silent on Kashmir, Kerala, West Bengal etc where Hindus have been targeted only on communal lines.
