Chilli, turmeric weaken on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Dec 25: Red chilli and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.
Red chilli and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 7,900-14,400 and Rs 6,100-11,700 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid sufficient stocks position mainly put pressure on chilli and turmeric prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
The following are today’s quotations per quintal:
Ajwain 13,000-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 550-680, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,000-1,100 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,150-1,300.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 680-780, cardamom (colour robin) 630-730, cardamom bold 680-730, cardamom extra (bold) 830-930 and cloves (kg) 850-900. (AGENCIES)
