JAMMU, June 23: On the concluding function of 20 days Children Summer Workshop organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in Abhinav Theatre, a play “Chhoti-Si-Bagawat” in Hindi was staged by the participating children. A painting competition was also organized.
On the occasion, Sunaina Sharma, Secretary, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) was the chief guest.
The play “Chhoti-Si-Bagawat” was directed, conceived and prepared by Neeraj Kant renowned and senior theatre artist, and director having the vast experience of organizing Children Workshops. The play was assisted by Bhupinder Singh Jamwal, Choreographer and Anil Tickoo, Assistant Culture Officer who are also renowned music and theatre directors and artists.
The play was an improvised script based on the conflict between living and non living things, where Geometry box tools held children responsible for their misuse.
The play begins with an improvisation where some children become geometry box tools and others as students and conflict begins when children play with tools cricket and other games. Then a child in the getup of Mahatma Gandhi asks children to have a court scene. In the court nothing could be decided and court is adjourned for seven days. Later tools decide to teach a lesson to the children and erase all their homework. Afterwards they decide to compromise with each other and tell a lesson to the audience that they should not misuse the things whether tools or something else.
Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Secretary, JKAACL presented the welcome address.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Shivani Anand young Hindi writer, poet and artist while vote of thanks was presented by Popinder Singh, Editor Punjabi.
