This has reference to the Children’s Day which was observed throughout the country on Nov 14.
Though the day is celebrated with great pomp and show in schools by taking part in different activities debate and competition shows. So far so good. But it is quite disappointing that the school authorities do not go beyond this ritual. Rather, school authorities should adopt one or two children from slums or poor section of society and provide them education free of cost.
The school children should be asked to donate their extra books or some money for educating children who do not have access to education or donate money towards children who suffer from diseases and cannot meet the medical expenses.
In this way, school going children can learnthe act of philanthrophy, sharing grief with others right from their school days.This in turn will sow the seeds for formation of a civilised.
