Chib calls on Union MoS Agri

NEW DELHI, May 19: Vice Chairman Advisory Board for Development of Kisans, Daljit Singh Chib called on Union Minister of State for Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Panchayati Raj, Parshottam Rupala and discussed various issues related to welfare of farmers.
Daljit Singh Chib highlighted various problems faced by farmer community and apprised the Minister on the potential of horticulture and floriculture in the State.
While hailing the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojna Scheme, Chib said that this scheme is a historic decision of Government of India which has given a new lease of life to the farmers of the country and requested that such insurance provisions should be made in horticulture and floriculture sector under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojna so that more unemployed youths of State can be motivated to adopt horticulture and floriculture as their livelihood.
He further added that the provisions/ schemes for establishment of commercial floriculture parks as small scale industries for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir should be explored.
Union Minister assured the Vice Chairman that every possible help to the State of Jammu and Kashmir would be extended for the welfare of farmers.
