JAMMU, Mar 21: “29th Holy Chhari Yatra” was taken out to historic religious shrines of Purmandal yesterday after performing Pooja at Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir, Shri Raghunath Ji Mandir Jammu by the representatives of Purmandal/Utterbeni Shrines Development Committee and Dharmarth Trust, J&K.
Thereafter the Holy Chharis were taken to Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu by Mahatmas and renowned Pujaris led by Mahant Rishiban and others. At the temple, Grand Pooja was ceremonized by Th Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and President Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust along with, Ajay Gandotra and Ashok Sharma, President & Secretary of Dharmarth Trust J&K, Jammu.
After that the holy maces were taken to Purmandal in a profusely decorated vehicle via Shri Mahadev Mandir Gandhi Nagar, Shiv Mandir Trikuta Nagar, Shiv Mandir Greater Kailash, Data Ranpat Dev Ji and Shri Narsingh Dev Ji Mandirs at Birpur. Enroute a befitting reception was given by the large number of people of all shades. Special reception to the holy maces was organized at Kharah Madana, Mandal etc, where Hindus/ Muslims/ Sikhs and prominent Moulvis led by Khatib Hussain, Raj Kumar Gupta (Raja) and Haji Bashir Ahmed Malik of the area received the holy maces and served heavy refreshment to the pilgrims accompanying the Chhari Mubarak Yatra.
Th Gulchain Singh Charak, while addressing the people, explained the importance of these historical shrines and about the holy Chhari Yatra which was started 28 years back. He also urged the Govt and Dharamarth Trust authorities to make all the further necessary arrangements including the transport from Purmandal Morh National Highway to Purmandal/Uttarbehni Shrines, cleanliness in Devika at both the places and providing other utility services for the lacs of devotees taking part in three days pilgrimage congregation on 20th 2Ist and 22nd March 2023.
Prominent among others, who expressed their views on the occasion and participated in the Yatra, included Ajay Gandotra, President Dharamarth Trust; Ashok Sharma, Secretary Dharmarth Trust; Mahant Rishiban, Raj Kumar (Raja) S C Rekhi, Gen Secretary Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust, Manager Purmandal Shrines Mr Dubey, ADC Samba (Nodal Officer) and other officials of the district administration.
