JAMMU, May 20: Chhamb Displaced Persons Association (CDPA) held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president SR Nagial and discussed various issues of the displaced people of 1965, 1971 and PoK refugees.
While speaking, Nagial informed that recently he met Additional Secretary, Home Department, who is looking after J&K Affairs and projected demands of the displaced persons of 1965, 1971 and PoK refugees.
Nagial further informed to Additional Secretary that the supplementary list of the left over families of 1971 has been forwarded to the Government by Divisional Commissioner with the recommendation of Rs 50,000 per kanal in respect of 463 displaced families of all the three districts—Jammu, Samba and Kathua.
He also informed about the nomination of Additional Commissioner Jammu as Nodal Officer for the displaced people, who will make suggestions to redress the grievances and will submit its report to the Administrative Department within two months.
“Additional Secretary assured that once they will get recommendation from the J&K Government on their pending demands, they will do the needful”, Nagial informed.
Among others spoke were Satpal Sharma, Ashok Kumar Bhagat, Rashpal Chand Bhagat, Ram Rattan, Inderjit Gupta, Skinder Lal Duggal, Puran Chand Choudhary, etc.
