JAMMU, June 30: Former Deputy CM and senior Congress leader, Tara Chand has claimed that during the last five years Chhamb constituency was neglected in all spheres of life.
Addressing a meeting of Block Congress Committee Khour, Chand said that miseries of farmers, jobless youth, border dwellers, ailing and other sections of the society increased manifold during the tenure of ex-MLA Chhamb.
He asked party functionaries to speed up their activities and ensure that a constant contact is maintained with masses and earnest efforts are made to highlight the hardships they face at present.
The Congress leader deliberated in detail the measures needed to be taken to ensure better performance of the party during forthcoming polls in J&K and asked the party functionaries to work with greater coordination and strengthen the party at ground level.
A number of people from different parts of Block Khour apprised Chand about the problems faced by them and he in turn assured them to take the matters with concerned authorities.
