MENDHAR, Dec 16: The people from Chhajla area of Mendhar held protest against the PHE authorities for their failure to restore the snapped water supply at Chhajla Haraaki and adjoining hamlets for the last about nine months.
Reports said that the villagers from Chhajla Haraaki and adjoining areas assembled at the village and held protest demonstration against the local PHE authorities and block Mendhar- Poonch Road.
They alleged that local PHE Sub Division at Mendhar has failed to restore water supply despite repeated requests. The concerned local staff claimed that pumps are not working being out of order.
The matter was brought to the notice of concerned JE and supervisor but water supply could not be restored, they added.
The villagers urged upon the higher authorities at Poonch to ensure better monitoring at lower level and ensure supply of water in the area.
