JAMMU, Aug 13: Channi Himmat Housing Colony has been reeling under acute power crisis during the past several days due to the neglecting attitude of the concerned authorities.
According to senior Congress leader and former senior vice-president of Pradesh Youth Congress, Ajay Tony the Power Development Department  has been resorting to unscheduled and frequent power cuts during the past several days despite the fact that the inhabitants of the area have been regularly paying the power tariff.
“What to talk of unscheduled power cuts the inhabitants of the area are even subjected to fluctuations, which pose threat of damaging electronic gadgets”, he said in a statement, adding “notwithstanding the tall claims of the Power Development Department, nobody is bothered even to listen the grievances of the people as none in the department attends to the call of the inhabitants regarding restoration of damages to the transformers or the distribution lines”.
He made it clear to the department that if the prevailing situation continues for more days people will come on roads to lodge protest.
