JAMMU, May 30: A delegation from Channi Himmat led by former JMC Councillor, Neena Gupta and comprising Ishant Gupta, BJP IT Head J&K; Ward general secretary, Amit Gandotra and Social Activist, Ashok Gupta met Jal Shakti Department (JSD) Chief Engineer, Hamesh Manchanda.
The delegation raised the issue of water shortage in Channi Himmat.
Neena Gupta informed the Chief Engineer that two tube wells in Channi Himmat are ready for use but need power connections.
She asked the Chief Engineer to complete the pending work on these tube wells so that these can start supplying water to the public and alleviate the water scarcity.
Neena said that with rising temperatures, having a reliable water supply source is crucial to meet the water shortage.
Ishant Gupta urged upon the Chief Engineer to personally visit the site for better understanding of the situation.
Amit Gandotra and Ashok Gupta demanded regular water supply along with proper schedule to help the residents in these hot summer days.
The Chief Engineer listened to the delegation with patience and promised that the ready tube wells would start working within days.
He also agreed to visit the site to check the situation and to address the issues to improve the water supply system.
