JAMMU, Aug 6: Jammu Kashmir Government Pharmacists Association (JKGPA) today demanded the Government of J&K to change nomenclature of Pharmacists as Pharmacy officers on the analogy of other States.
Addressing a press conference here today, Bharat Bhushan Bhagat (provincial president, JKGPA) highlight long pending demands of Government Pharmacists viz. change of nomenclature of Pharmacists as Pharmacy officers and upgradation of post of District Pharmacy Officer at district level hospital and Block Pharmacy Officer at block level hospital in J&K.
Bhagat also laid stress on creation of the post of Technical Officer. He said recently Government issued order number 457JK (HME) of 2023 dated 02-06-2023 for recruitment and amendment in medical colleges of UT. “In this order Government kept one post in Hospital Pharmacy as Technical Officer (Pharmacy) in Government Medical College in the pay level 7 i.e. (44900 -142400),” he said, adding, the same post may be kept in every District Hospital of the UT in best interest of patient care and to remove the injustice with the Pharmacists of Health Department.
