Leaving all sort of discrimination may be in recruitment, employment in Secretariat allotment of developmental funds, realization of revenue etc. with the masses of Jammuites region, one is shocked to find most competitive and prestigious examination entitled as “Kashmir Adm. Services” and “Kashmir Police Services” for our talented youngsters. We all are inhabitants of J&K State and also enjoy special status under Article 370, then why this prestigious, benevolent examination is named only after a region and not after a State i.e. “J&K Administrative Services” or “J&K Police Services.” This has created resentment amongst the masses of Jammu region.
A wrong type of signal goes to habitants of other States also that “Kashmir” and “J&K” are two distinctive identities.
Authorities at the helm of affairs working enthusiastically for the integration of the State/Country should look into these issues also. Efforts should be taken for the redressal of such sentimental issues in order to create a peaceful and cohesive milieu in the State and also to over come trauma.
