Chana futures recover 0.29 pc on spot demand

NEW DELHI, June 3:  Chana prices recovered by 0.29 per cent to Rs 2,785 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by a rise in demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in June rose by Rs 8, or 0.29 per cent to Rs 2,785 per quintal with an open interest of 86,380 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in July moved up by Rs 5, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 2,849 per quintal in 1,10,520 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators supported on the back of rising demand in the spot markets mainly led to the rise in chana prices at futures trade. (PTI)
