JAMMU, Nov 26: Senior PCC leader and former minister Raman Bhalla today claimed that BJP Govt has abandoned people with their problems related to the basic amenities during its nightmarish rule, saying the promises made during 2014 Parliamentary and Assembly elections proved just hoax.
The former minister was addressing huge public rally organized on the occasion of nomination of Congress DDC candidate Manohar Lal Mottan from Bishnah constituency. He said that the poor-sections of the society are suffering a lot due to mis-rule of BJP Government at the Centre and state BJP leadership.
PCC leader accused the BJP Government of befooling the people of J&K by its false claims of development. He said that BJP did nothing for the people except generating passions on religious and regional lines. He said the people have been living miserable lives during the past more than six years, with nobody addressing their problems. He said that present dispensation is turning a blind eye towards the apprehensions and concerns of people of the State, especially Jammu region. He said that the government in a bid to demonstrate its powers and authority had resorted to such undemocratic moves which was not in tune with the concept of liberal democracy.
” The Congress party would fight for the genuine rights of the people in Jammu and Kashmir who have undergone numerous sufferings during the past six years,” Bhalla said and lashed out at BJP for its utter failure to respect the mandate of the people of Jammu. The developmental machinery came to a grinding halt and the utility services suffered major jolt due to the self-centred approach of the BJP leaders. The hope of inclusive development and political reconciliation were taken over by despair, as the self styled champions of the Jammu cause failed to satiate the urges and aspirations of people.
Former minister alleged that every section of the society, including farmers, traders and government employees were fed up with this “anti-people” dispensation. He asked the people that if they want to mitigate their suffering they must come under the banner of Congress Party whose leaders have sacrificed their whole life for the upliftment of poor masses of India. BJP does not want to face the people in the Assembly elections as it apprehends backlash over its anti-people decisions and policies which deprived the people of their identity and special rights to jobs and land,” he said.
