MYSURU : Champions Karnataka will take on Baroda in the Elite Group A tie of the Ranji trophy at SDNRW stadium here from January 21 to 24.
Speaking to reporters KSCA Mysuru zone convenor S Balachandar said this would be the 12th Ranji match the city would be hosting. This included last year’s finals-Karnataka and Mumbai. The stadium had been kept ready to host the match and patch looks complete green top.
He said from this Ranji Trophy season anti-corruption measures had been implemented by the BCCI. The anti-corruption officer for this match will be Mr Madavan.
The Baroda team lead by Aditya Waghmode had already landed in the city and had a net practice at the stadium today, while Karnataka team expected this evening. Hosts Karnataka team were on the top of the table in the group A with 28 points by winning four matches outright and gaining first innings lead in the other.
Baroda has 15 points and is placed third. It has won one match and drawn other four so far in the league.
