SRINAGAR, July 2: Chairman Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali today convened a meeting of heads of the House Committees and senior Government functionaries to take stock of the repair and renovation work of the Council hall, conference hall, meeting halls etc in the Legislature Complex, which was extensively damaged during the September-2014 floods.
The Minister for Education Naeem Akhtar was also present in the meeting.
Haji Anayat directed the concerned executing agency to speed up the repair and renovation work and complete it within the shortest possible time. He instructed Director Estates to take up the repair and renovation work of the Central hall and install public address system and furniture, lighting there on priority.
Chairman instructed the concerned authorities to ensure cleaning of Council hall and disposing the damaged furniture/electronic equipment immediately.
Later, the Chairman along with the members and officers inspected Central hall, Council hall, meeting hall, conference hall and officer chambers.
Legislators G N Monga, Vibodh Gupta and Javaid Ahmad, Commissioner Secretary Finance, Director Estates and senior officers of various departments attended the meeting.
