JAMMU, Jan 17:  Chairman Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali today directed the Government to come out with a detailed reply within three days with regard to the allegations of  encroachment on Kahcharai land worth crores of rupees at posh Friends  Colony, at Humhama in Budgam by a National Conference Legislator.
PDP member, Yasir Reshi today again raised the issue after Question Hour  in the Upper House and pleaded the Chairman that Government was totally silent over the issue. He said yesterday also he had raised the issue, several ministers were sitting in the House but no body responded. Today, again there was no reply at all. He said  NC MLA Mohd Akbar Lone has grabbed land worth crores at Friends Colony and he was raising this issue for the last one year, but surprisingly there is no response. He pleaded the Chairman to make House Committee or issue directions to the Government seeking detailed reply.
The Chairman then, taking serious view of  the issue and casual attitude of  Government, directed the  Government to come out with a detailed reply in the Upper House within three days.
It is worthwhile to mention here that on Tuesday PDP member Yasir Reshi called  senior National Conference leader and former Speaker and Minister, Mohd Akbar Lone  as  `land grabber’  and demanded that action under law should be taken against him.
Yasir along with another PDP member, Saifuddin  Bhat invited the attention of the Chairman that during last session also the issue was raised regarding Kahcharai land grabbing by NC MLA  at Friends Colony in Humhama area near Srinagar airport. The Government assured to take action and also give reply but no response has come so far.
He asked which is the forum where they can raise the issue if  the Legislature will maintain silent.
