SRINAGAR, May 7: Parveen Sharma, Chairman of The Citizens Cooperative Bank Ltd, Jammu, called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at Civil Secretariat here and discussed multiple issues regarding revival of the CCBL- largest urban cooperative bank of Jammu and Kashmir.
Accompanied by CCBL Professional Director, CA Joginder Singh and Managing Director of the bank, Ravi Kant, Chairman Parveen Sharma highlighted the challenges being faced by the cooperative sector banks in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir amidst stiff competition from other large sized public and private sector banks.
Sharma also suggested the strategies and measures necessary to improve the position of these cooperative sector banks, particularly the CCBL Jammu in the backdrop of financial constraints regarding capital etc.
The Chief Minister gave them a patient hearing and well understood the problems being faced by the sector. He assured every kind of support from the Government for cooperative sector banks, particularly for the revival of the Citizens Cooperative Bank Ltd. Jammu at the earliest.
The Chairman and other members expressed gratitude to the CM for sparing time from his busy schedule, hearing the issues with great concern and assuring to address them positively as early as possible.
