SRINAGAR, June 3: Upper House legislators, primarily those from Opposition benches, came under severe criticism of Chairman Haji Anayat Ali in Legislative Council for not adhering to the set rules and norms.
The Chairman got infuriated after Opposition legislators asked more than two supplementary questions with regard to polytechnic college in Shopian to Minister of State (MoS) Sunil Sharma in the Upper House even as he directed them to sit down. On the other side, the members on treasury benches also started to ask questions which angered Chairman.
“You people don’t know anything about the House. Take this House seriously. You don’t come here for time pass. Please take this House seriously. I have seen you (not taking this House seriously),” said angry Chairman.
Earlier, the Chairman also expressed his unhappiness over the walkout by four legislators including Ghulam Nabi Monga, Dr Shehnaz Ganai, Sham Lal Bhagat and Ali Mohammad Dar.
