JAMMU, June 4: A chain snatching attempt by two youths was foiled by the alert people in Nai Basti area of Gandhi Nagar.
As per police sources, an army couple residing in Satwari area was purchasing vegetable in Nai Basti area, when two youths tried to snatch the gold chain of the lady.
The lady raised hue and cry and the alert people nabbed one of the chain snatcher and informed the police.
On getting information, police team from Gandhi Nagar police station rushed to the spot and arrested the chain snatcher and manhunt was launched to nab his associate.
After conducting series of raids, police arrest the associate of the arrested chain snatcher from a hideout.
The accused have been identified as namely Jai Dev Pal Singh and Gurnam Singh, both residents of Model Town, Gangyal.
A case has been registered in this regard at police station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
Police team headed by SHO Manzoor Ahmed Kohli made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Harjeet Singh and SP South Rahul Malik.
