Ch Manmohan asks Jat community to unite for getting OBC status

SAMBA, Aug 12: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Ch Manmohan Singh, President All India Jat Maha Sabha J&K, here today in village Palura of tehsil Rajpura and discussed many issues related to the community, particularly OBC status for the Jats.
“The Government should sanction OBC status to Jats at par with those Jats living in other States of our country,” Choudhary said and called upon the community members to unite themselves for the demand.
In the meeting, it was decided to frame a committee of Rajpura Tehsil on the pattern of other Tehsils and after a thread bear discussion, it was unanimously decided that Sarpanch Reena Choudhary of Raipur be nominated as Mahila president of AIJMS Samba Distt.
Ch Darshan Singh of Palura was elected as Tehsil President, Ch Darshan Singh of Rajpura as Senior Vice President, Deepak Choudhary as Gen Secretary, Romesh Choudhary, Narinder Choudhary and Kulbushan Choudhary as Vice Presidents, Vishal Choudhary of Rajpura, Pankaj Choudhary of Mawa and Kailash Choudhary were appointed as secretaries while Sanjay Choudhary was nominated as Media Secretary and Subash Choudhary as the cashier of AIJMS.
Ch Manmohan Singh said that by forming such committees at every village, he was making communication with the community people very easy. “This way people will have a proper channel for raising their demands. We have means and sources to get our issues resolved and these committees will make communication easy for our people,” he said adding that being chosen as a representative of the Biradari entails a lot of dedicated work for the people and it is no less than a full time job.
Choudhary said that by forming these committees, he was enabling the community people to raise their concerns independently. “They are choosing representatives from themselves and with this everyone has a chance to come forward with their issues,” he said and added that if they need further help, then he and his team were always there for assistance.
The meeting was attended by Ch Sham Lal, Rashpal Choudhary, Gaar Choudhary, Aditya Choudhary and many others of village Mawa, Madoon, Palura and Rajpura.
