CEO Shrine Board reviews operational aspects of Bhawan-Bhairon Passenger Ropeway

KATRA, Nov 17: Simrandeep Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, chaired a meeting related to the forthcoming Passenger Ropeway project in Bhawan.
The operational aspects of the upcoming ropeway were reviewed in detail in the meeting which included deployment of trained staff for ticketing system, queue management, facilities for specially-abled and elderly persons, security, functioning of CCTV Cameras, installation of signage, public announcement system, fire fighting system, mock drills for rescue operations in the event of any emergency situation and several other allied matters for larger facilitation of the pilgrims who will be availing the Ropeway facility.
The CEO also inspected the Waiting Hall-cum-Ticketing Centre which has been constructed on the rooftop of the Manokamna Bhawan for the passengers of this ropeway. He also took stock of the ramp leading to the take off point of this facility besides the boarding and de-boarding arrangements for the passengers at the Lower and Upper Terminals and issued instructions for taking all the required measures expeditiously for the convenience of the pilgrims.
It is pertinent to mention that the Passenger Ropeway between Bhawan and Bhairon Ghati is nearing completion and the Chairman, SMVDSB has set fixed timelines for its early commissioning. The ropeway will reduce the travel time of the one way journey between Bhawan and Bhairon Temple from one hour to less than three minutes.
Among those who participated in the meeting included Vivek Verma, Additional CEO; Hem Kant Prasher, Chief Accounts Officer; Dr. Arvind Karwani and Amit Vermani, Dy. CEOs; Naresh Kumar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Bhawan; Manu Hansa, Assistance CEO; P. C. Tanoch, Executive Engineer; other concerned officers and engineers of the Shrine Board and, besides, the executives and engineers of M/s RITES, M/s DRIL and M/s Datamatics.
