NEW DELHI, Sep 22:
The Centre today reviewed the flood situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya and asked all concerned to expedite relief and rehabilitation works.
Chairing a high level meeting here, Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami took stock of the relief and rehabilitation works being carried out in J&K which was hit by a devastating flood.
He directed all central agencies to offer full cooperation to the J&K Government in relief and rehabilitation works.
Goswami also reviewed the flood situation in Assam and Meghalaya and offered the two State Governments all central help.
Teams of the National Disaster Response Force have been sent to Meghalaya to deal with the flood situation in Garo hills.
NDRF teams stationed in Guwahati have been kept on standby and may be utilised any time for rescue and relief operations in Assam.
Both Assam and Meghalaya are facing floods after heavy rains in last two days. (AGENCIES)
