JAMMU, June 15: BJP State general secretary and former MLC, Vibodh Gupta utilised the famous Dogra festival Tamdaay as a platform to promote awareness on COVID-19 appropriate behaviour and further attended a Langar sewa organised by Ajay Anand (BJP State co-incharge Department of Information Technology) and Sardar Hardev Singh (BJP district convener Transport Cell).
While speaking on the occasion, Vibodh said that today BJP Karyakartas across the country are also working day and night like the frontline warriors. These party workers he said are sacrificing their own comforts and are helping everyone in this hour of need.
While referring to the large number of welfare measures initiated by the Central Government, Vibodh informed that currently an amount of Rs. one lakh crore has been allocated for providing free ration of about 80 crore eligible citizens of India. He also informed that the Government is also providing free vaccination to the citizens whereas no other country has taken such a measure.
While throwing light on the benefits to the children orphaned by COVID, Vibodh said that on this also recently PM Modi has announced a number of measures for the children who lost their parents due to COVID – 19. As part of this free education will be provided to these children and when they will turn 18 they will also be provided a corpus of Rs. 10 lakh.
This corpus will be used to provide monthly stipend from 18 years of age for the next five years to take care of their higher education.
Vibodh further said that in such trying times, it is the duty of every citizen of India to stand united and support the PM of India in one voice who is leading the war against COVID from the front. This he said is the only way to defeat this invisible enemy.
BJP senior leader, Munish Sharma also spoke on the occasion and called upon party workers to continue their mission of helping the poor and needy. He appreciated the service of a large number of volunteers who participated in the langar Sewa.
