Central office of Tourism Development Cooperative Limited opened at Jammu

JAMMU, Oct 6: The Central office of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Tourism Development Cooperative Limited was opened today at Trade Centre, Chamber House, Rail Head Complex, here.
The office was inaugurated by Navin K Choudhary, Principal Secretary to Governor in the presence of Soujanya Sharma, Director Tourism and YV Sharma, President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Cooperative was formed under J&K Self Reliant Cooperative Act 1999 by prominent tourism trade professionals to work for development of tourism in J&K and ensuring that tourists have the wider choices of quality services at competitive prices.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Gupta, Chairman of the Cooperative emphasised the need of quality handling of tourists in J&K and updating of services to international standards in order to sustain this competitive market.
Navin K Choudhary advised the tourism fraternity to adopt internationally acclaimed marketing strategies to reach the door step of the potential tourists. He strongly suggested the need of bringing in transparency in the trade and assured all cooperation and guidance to tourism fraternity and cooperative members.
YV Sharma suggested for better coordination between tourism service providers and Tourism Department.
Soujanya Sharma gave a detailed view of various tourism projects being undertaken in Jammu and adjoining areas and assured his all co-operations to tourism fraternity besides extending his good wishes to this initiative of tourism stake holders.
Rajender Motial, former secretary general, Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented vote of thanks.
Besides members of the Cooperative, office bearers of various trade and tourism associations from Jammu and Katra, Chamber of Commerce, business men and heads of social bodies were present.
